Christmas in Australia. It isn’t right somehow. Having spent 30 years of having a cold Christmas, mixed with occasional snow and classic scenes of winter that accompany the northern hemisphere the whole concept of a hot, sunny, bright Christmas was alien.

Visited the Old Melbourne Gaol. One wing of the place is open to the public. Many of the death masks for inmates who were hanged, including the most famous of all – Ned Kelly, are kept here inside the cells which is a little spooky on first sight.
Fun first week back in Melbourne. The weather’s been up and down a bit. Rain one day, hot the next. It’s a pleasure to be back here again and this time for a lot longer. The first few days were tiring. I had a bad case of jet lag and adjusting to the heat of the beginnings of summer.
