Melbourne Doodle
Had some fun on Sunday morning. The decision was made to wash the car. Car Wash Job. Where was there one open on Sunday morning? No one knew so it because a driving tour of the northern suburbs, the CBD and South Melbourne before we found something. Hell, how else do you spend your Sunday mornings in Melbourne?
Tuesday morning and I’m running to downtown Melbourne on the train, I’m wondering why people take bikes on trains. Just ride the damn thing!
Public transport here is fantastic. Sure, the locals complain about it to the newspapers. Trains here, like trains all over the world, have a habit of breaking down. Trams do too from time to time. Accidents occur that prevent smooth running of the system but Melbourne has what can only be described as one of the world’s best systems. A network of trams, trains and buses that are frequent and mostly reliable covering much of the city and it’s suburbs.
Yeah, I know. Talk to anyone about their city’s public transport and they’ll bitch and complain but when you look at these things from a distance, where else can you get around the city and suburbs with that sort of choice?
Sat watching Eddie McGuire presenting ‘…Millionaire’. After a bit of a smoke we were all decided that going on the show would only be fun and worthwhile if we could take the piss out of him and his Pies.
Mixing pieces of work with trips out around the suburbs. I’ve rather taken to the Sea Baths in St Kilda. Lovely spot. Just sitting out watching the beach, having a coffee or two and generally just enjoying life.
Neighbours also hit the 20th Anniversary show last night. A few old faces have returned to Ramsey St and a few others were on a doco saying how wonderful living in Ramsey St was. All very cheesy and funny.
