Driving Around the Civil War
The battlefields around Fredericksburg and Spotsylvania saw some of the fiercest and bloody fighting in the American Civil War. The areas are now a mix of reminder and memorial to those who died during the fighting. The National Parks preserve several key areas and memorials to generals, including the point where “Stonewall” Jackson was shot by his own men, are maintained.
Both driving tours and walking tours take visitors around the key moments in Spotsylvania, Wilderness, Chancellorsville and Fredericksburg.
