About

Travel is fun. I’ve always enjoyed the experience of visiting a new city or country. During the early years, on family holidays. Rumbling round campsites in France. Then extending out into Germany and Switzerland. School trips later took me to Brussels, Germany and Russia.

Somewhere back in 2004 I had my love of travel re-awakened after getting a damn good kick up the arse. I embarked on a backpacker tour of Australia with a 12 month working visa.

Australia is a wonderful big country and filled with some strange creatures, glorious scenery and a population of first rate people. I thoroughly loved my time there and will be returning on an irregular basis now that I have family out there. There are still parts of the country I’ve never seen and parts of the country I want to return to. I’ve also met some great Australians who I’d love to see again sometime soon.

The world is out there to be discovered. I’ve found that as I get older everywhere becomes more interesting. I appreciate the places more now. The people and cultures around the world are unique, varied and often extremely interesting.

Wayward Wandering grew from a simple Blogger blog into what it is today, via a few changes and alterations. Since transferring the old blog into its own website, Wayward Wandering has been hosted by the excellent 1&1 and is built on the excellent WordPress blogging system with the PrimePress Theme.

My experiences are there to be enjoyed by all. It is intended that my own travels will excite others to visit the places I’ve been to.
