The end of the road. It is now obvious my time in Sydney is coming to an end. The hostel is not as fun now than in previous months. I have seen Revenge of the Sith twice now and had the joy of a Henry Rollins talking show. Three months in Sydney and it’s been really great. I’ve enjoyed this city and staying in Kings Cross. The nights out and days around the city. It’s about time I went to Newcastle.
The brothels and strip clubs around Kings Cross and on Darlinghurst Rd run to some strict guidelines regarding the mix of alcohol and prostitutes. They don’t mix. You’re in a brothel with no alcohol or a strip club with alcohol. Strippers can sell alcohol but won’t have sex. Prostitutes in brothels won’t sell alcohol but will have sex for money. Such is the pleasure of Darlinghurst Rd in Kings Cross.
Another week of work and play. Mixing feeling low with a cold coming on and meeting one incredibly gorgeous Dutch girl. Life in the hostel is not as good as it has been with numerous changes, people leaving and new people coming. The party is slowly breaking up.
Taking in more of Sydney, around the Art Gallery and NSW State Library, photos of statues including Flinders and Arthur Phillip.
Saturday night and Alex and the German Girl share a birthday so its party night. Time for beer, cake and a long winded pub crawl through Sydney never quite ending up where we planned to go. This is why I’m still in Sydney. It’s fun! Ended the night chatting with a stripper in Porky’s strip club and brothel.
The relaxation and settling into patterns in Sydney are now grating a little. Part of me wants to move on but right now I feel comfortable here. I’m enjoying it. The hostel has been great, some fun people. Been in some pain since falling over. My hip feels sore and the pain is subsiding so I shouldn’t need a trip to somewhere medical.
Nights out, more beer and more time spent on Darlinghurst Road. The mix of late nights and football is fun and giving me a chance to just relax and enjoy the time here. I felt like I needed a break from “things†so a week or so of doing nothing is helping the soul and recharging the batteries a little. Thinking of now moving on from Sydney.
Spending the day in Darling Harbour, one of the Sydney’s most desirable areas. Fun at the IMAX cinema watching Robots on the world’s largest cinema screen.
